President & Founder

Tyler A. Morgan Parker, Esq.

Tyler A. Morgan Parker is a 2024 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Her ultimate goal is to help diversify the legal profession, particularly for Black women. In 2024, Tyler founded BWL to elevate the reach, access, and impact of Black women in the legal profession. 

During law school, Tyler served as the National Director of Pre-Law Affairs for the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA), the largest student-run organization in the country. During her term, Tyler organized the largest pre-law symposium in NBLSA’s history. New York Attorney General, Letitia James, recognized Tyler for her work.

Tyler has received leadership awards from the Federal Bar Association, the John Mercer Langston Bar Association, Women En Blanc, and the Theta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. In 2024, Tyler received the MVP award at NBLSA’s National Convention.

Tyler currently serves as a judicial law clerk. After her clerkship, Tyler will work as an associate at Taft Stettinius & Hollister. Tyler is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Keishia Dormena

Keishia Dormena is a third-year law student at Roger Williams University School of Law. Keishia was born and raised in Brooklyn and has a passion for litigation and appellate advocacy. She served as the Director for the Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition for the northeast region of the National Black Law Students Association (NEBLSA), where she oversaw the competition at the regional level, promoting fairness and excellence in advocacy. Committed to supporting the next generation, Keishia dedicates time to mentoring as a Teaching Assistant and as Managing Editor of the Moot Court Journal at Roger Williams University School of Law. 

Why Black Women in Law? She says, “My ultimate mission as an attorney is to empower Black women to achieve their full potential in the legal profession. I believe Black women are strong, powerful, and resilient, and it’s time for our presence to grow in a field where policies and decisions directly impact our communities. As a future lawyer, I am dedicated to creating pathways for our success in a profession where Black women make up just 2% of all lawyers in America.

As Vice President, my vision is to amplify Black women’s presence and influence, ensuring we have a seat in rooms where decisions are made and that our voices shape policies addressing issues of racism and sexism. I am committed to fostering stronger mentorship and networking opportunities that empower Black women to define and decide the future of their careers.”

Director of Programming

Mariah Byrd, Esq. 

Mariah works as in-house counsel for a global testing and technology company. Originally from Chicago, IL, she is a dedicated advocate for Black women navigating post-graduate career paths, encouraging them to embrace self-care and a balanced lifestyle to achieve a healthy work-life equilibrium. Outside of work, she is a part-time Solidcore and Pilates coach, focusing on holistic wellness that extends beyond the 50-minute class to nurture overall well-being. She is also an avid traveler, deeply inspired by exploring new countries and cultures—traveling is an integral part of her self-care.

Why Black Women in Law? She states: "I am thrilled to join Black Women in Law, as I am passionate about mentoring Black women who aspire to enter the legal field. I look forward to contributing to a mission that is larger than myself while being in the empowering company of women who share my background and experiences."

Director of Finance and Corporate Engagement

Briona Hall

Briona is a third-year law student at Capital University Law School and is set to graduate in May 2025. Originally from Rochester, New York, she holds a finance degree from Pace University in New York City and has a strong background in entrepreneurship. During her career, she has mentored clients to collectively earn over $500,000 and has successfully managed various businesses. Briona is passionate about empowering others, especially minority women, and has dedicated her efforts to helping their businesses grow and thrive.

In her own words, Briona says, "I’m excited to serve as the Director of Finance and Corporate Engagement because this role allows me to combine my financial expertise with my commitment to supporting Black women in law. I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of Black Women in Law, particularly through innovative sponsorships and sustainable financial strategies."
